When administrators at California’s West Hills Community College (WHCC) District bandied about suggestions for a guest speaker to raise money toward construction of a new events center on the college’s Lemoore campus, one bold, if controversial, name rose to the top: Sarah Palin.Love her or hate her, the high-profile politician would generate interest among potential givers, Squire thought. She was right: Tickets sold out before administrators announced Palin’s visit to the press.
